How do I change my email?

Your account can be linked to one email address, which is used for logging in, password recovery, and withdrawal confirmation. If you'd like to stop using your current email and link to a new one, follow the steps below.

Note: for the security of your assets, after resetting or modifying your phone number, email, or Authenticator app, you won't be able to withdraw funds, sell crypto via P2P, or conduct DEX transactions for 24 hours.

Scenario 1: Your email is accessible

On the app

  1. Open the OKX app and select Menu

    Open User Center page

  2. Select Account settings, go to Security

  3. Under the Authentication methods section, select Email

  4. Select Change email address and tap Yes > Next

  5. Review the Security notice and select Continue

  6. Enter the verification code sent to your current email address and select Confirm

  7. Complete the required verification, then enter your New email address and the verification code sent to it, select Confirm to complete.

On the web

  1. Go to Profile and select Security

  2. On email address, select Manage

  3. Select Change email address and tap Yes > Next

  4. Review the Security notice and select Continue

  5. Enter the verification code sent to your current email address and select Confirm

  6. Complete the required verification, then enter your New email address and the verification code sent to it, select Confirm to complete.

Note:

  • It's mandatory to link both your phone number and email during the authentication setup.

  • Select Unable to verify if you can't complete the verification.

Scenario 2: Your email is not accessible

Non-login status

Please follow the steps below to reset your security verification on your app. Make sure your app is updated to the latest version. Important Note: if you have created a Web3 wallet, back up your wallet first. Learn more here about how to back your seed phrase or private key.

  1. On the login page, enter your phone or email address, then select Next > Forgot your password > Confirm

  2. Review the Security notice and select Continue

  3. Select Unable to verify > Reset authentication method

  4. Tap Email > Confirm, review the Security notice and select Continue

  5. Complete the required verification, then enter your other linked verification method on the security verification page. Follow the on-screen prompts to proceed until the process is complete.

Logged in status

  1. Open the OKX app and go to Menu

  2. Select Account settings and go to Security

  3. Under the Authentication methods section, select Email

  4. Select Change email address and tap No > Next > Email > Confirm.

  5. Complete the required verification, then enter your new email address and the verification code sent to it. Tap Confirm to complete the reset.

Note: you can change or reset your email address, but you can't remove it.
